The legendary manager took the YM duo to Crewe's state of the art training facility as well as the club's stadium at Gresty Road.
"The set-up they have there is fantastic," added Mitchell.
The YM man was impressed with Crewe's coaches, both tactically and on a man-management front.
"Everyone seemed to be doing it with a smile on their face and there were no raising of voices.
It was great to see a professional at work.
"It made me think of how I man¬age and coach, I like to instruct and tell players what they are doing wrong during the game," he added.
Mitchell admitted he had plenty to think about during the long journey back from Crewe to Horsham.
"It's about emulating that on a smaller level," he said.
