Southall brace not enough as YM let a 2-0 lead slip against an impressive Lewes side.

YM started brightly seeing Martin shoot over in the second minute, minutes later and Bradley fired in a shot straight at Lewes’s keeper.

As the game went on Lewes started to stretch YM’s defence and could have taken the lead, YM’s keeper managed to push a fierce shot onto the post and clear of danger.

YM living dangerous took a surprised lead when Southall climbed to head home from an O’Carroll cross.

Deep into injury time and Southall grabbed his brace of headers to give YM a 2-0 half time lead. YM instructed to keep it tight for the start of the second half conceded two poor goals with only seven minutes played.

With Lewes now in the ascendancy YM found themselves on the back foot and should have been dead and buried as Lewes missed chance after chance.

With full time looming YM thought they had weathered the storm and were going to take a point out of this hard fought game.

As fate would have it Lewes got the break they deserved and headed in their third with minutes to go, to rub salt into the wound as YM tried to grab an equaliser Lewes grabbed a fourth to round off an impressive win.
