YM fought their way back to a 2:2 draw in the first Horsham derby and in doing so clinched the top slot in the Southern Youth League.
The first half in this well attended matching opened well for YM with them, having by far the best possession of the ball and field position.
However despite a number of testing shots they could not capitalise on their advantage, highlighted by a series of poorly executed corners.
Against this run of play the young Hornets broke free from the YM defense and were ablet to slot the ball away after 20 minutes.
YM allowed their heads to drop and the tide turned in the Hornet's favour, 15 minutes later they scored a second in controvercial circumstances.
A break down the Hornet's right wing resulted in a cross to a player that the linesman judged to be offside, the ball was put in the back of the net as the YM defense stopped playing assuming off side would be called. It wasn't as the referee over-ruled the linesman and the goal stood.
The half closed with the Hornets winning 2:0.
In the second half YM came out much more positive and within 10 minutes had pulled one goal back thanks to determined play by centre forward Tim Martin, his drive through the Hornet's defense allowed him to beatthe goalkeeper from 7 yards out.
YM then stepped up the pressure, again finishing was a problem but the chances kept coming again and again.
Eventually on the 70th minute the second goal was bundled into the net, no-one sure who really put it there.
The game continued a pace but despite chances at both ends there was no more score.
Meanwhile over in Leatherhead League leaders Three Bridges were loosing only their second game of the season to allow YM to go ahead of them in the league on goal difference.
