YM PROGRESS IN JOHN O' HARA CUP
Horsham YMCA moved into the second round of the John O' Hara League Cup with a 3-1 victory over Division 2 outfit Mile Oak on Saturday afternoon.
YM made the perfect start, striker Martin Smith netting his second goal in three games, although the remainder of their first half performance was somewhat sluggish.
Peter Buckland's side failed to create any further clear cut chances during the first period, before the hosts equalised through Ryan Pretlove, five minutes before half time.
But the second half was a much more comfortable affair. Tom Stillwell restored the visitors advantage with a powerful header five minutes in, before YM's passage into the next round was secured ten minutes from time when Matt Evans slotted home.
YM now face a return to league action at home to Worthing United on Monday morning.
