YM keeper's injury woe

7 September 2009

HORSHAM YMCA goalkeeper Simon Lockwood has added to their injury crisis after undergoing surgery on a broken leg suffered on Saturday.

Lockwood was expected to be operated on today, after suffering the injury against Folkestone Invicta on Saturday.

YM were 2-0 down before Lockwood was hurt in a challenge as he tried to claim a high cross and his planted leg became stuck.

Manager Chris Whites does not yet know the extent of the damage and the time Lockwood will be out of action.

He said: "It is the fourth serious injury we have had this season already."

Tony Timms broke his arm two weeks ago, Dan White is due to undergo knee surgery, and youth team goalkeeper Chris Corbin also suffered a broken leg on Saturday.

That adds to an injury list which already includes Nigel Brake, John Westcott and James Rhodes.
