HORSHAM YMCA crashed out of the FA Trophy with a 3-1 defeat against Ryman League Division 1 South rivals Chipstead on Saturday. YM took the lead after only two minutes when Mike Huckett headed in Shaheen Sadough's free kick. And the visitors continued to play the better football for 30 minutes until poor defending allowed Freeman to level. Further mistakes at the back saw Reggie Savage put Chips ahead but Sadough had an effort hacked off the line and John Westcott somehow missed from three yards as YM tried to equalise. A second booking saw Scott Bennett sent off and the hosts were awarded a bizarre penalty when the ball seemed to strike Tom Graves' shoulder, which Graham converted to secure Chipstead's progression into round three. YM boss Chris White said: "We started the game really well, scored after two minutes and for 25 minutes we were great, committed and worked hard. "But our confidence is fragile at the moment and when they scored you could just see the confidence drain out of the players and in the second-half we didn't really come out." |
