HORSHAM YMCA suffered their fifth league defeat of the season, going down 2-0 at in-form Fleet Town on Saturday. YM were more than a match for their hosts before 'committing suicide' after 30 minutes when goalkeeper Tom Rand was penalised for taking the ball outside the area and James Field scored the resulting free kick. Midfielder Tom Rand had a couple of chances and Gavin Geddes – making his first start for the club – twice tested the Fleet keeper, but Darren Wheeler's goal seven minutes from time made it six wins on the trot for his side. YM boss Chris White said: "For the first 30 minutes we dominated possession and were playing really well but then we committed suicide. "It's a tough place to come so I would have been delighted to come in 0-0 at half-time but 1-0 down against a team who have won six on the trot it was always going to be an uphill task." The defeat leaves YM just a point from bottom side Whitstable Town and with what White has named a 'massive game' against Ashford Town (Kent) on Tuesday night at Gorings Mead. |
