Horsham YMCA’s win against Chatham Town on Saturday leaves them unbeaten in their last live games, and gave YM their second 2-0 victory in a row.

The match itself got off to a slow start for the hosts and their performance during the iirst 40 mintues was more than a little disappointing.

Chris White said: "We weren’t the best team during the first half.”

Unfortunately for Chatham they were unable to take advantage of having the better of the game in the first half. "

And YM made them pay when Terry Dodd scored the opener in the 43rd minutes and it proved the turning point for YM in the match.

Dodd’s goal could not have come at a better time and it provided YM with the spark they needed to up the ante after the break in a second half they dominated.

Matt Geard scored a second goal for the hosts in the 70th minute to give the home side some breathing space. And they continued to play their brand of flowing football for the rest of the game to run out deserved 2-0 winners. YM's Matt Geard, picture by Derek Martin courtesy of the West Sussex County Times

Chris White was pleased with his team’s win this weekend as it gave them a fifth clean sheet in a row "We are trying to get as many points on the board before the end of the season," the manager added.

Horsham YMCA will try to keep up their unbeaten record when they face Chipstead tomorrow (Saturday). On Monday they host neighbours Worthing.

YM currently lie in 11th in the Ryman 1 South with five matches of what has so far been a successful season remaining.
