HORSHAM YMCA are making themselves at home in the Ryman League, to such an extent that manager Chris White is disappointed their points tally only stands at five so far.
Unbeaten in their first three games, YM felt they might have done better than an opening day draw against Walton & Hersham, defeated Met Police on their own beat, and were unhappy with just a point at Chatham on Saturday.
Winger Tom Lawley rifled the visitors in front, but they were pegged back by a wonder goal just before half time. Enjoying the bet-ter of the chances through¬out, White's men did have to weather a late storm, and he feels they are making heir mark in the new league.
He said: "We have got some good footballers at this :lub, the only thing is that >ve have to wise up to certain hings at times, like when the >all goes dead. But we have mt in three very good per-brmances so far, so 1 am 'ery encouraged."
White's message to his team to wise up, came from the equaliser. YM cruised through the first half, goal¬keeper Simon Lockwood barely had a touch of the ball, but they switched off long enough for Steve Hafner to line up a free kick two yards inside his own half which he rocketed into the top corner.
Before YM's opener, Huckett grazed the crossbar and Lawley smacked one into the post. Lawley went one better though midway through the half, jinking inside and firing his side ahead.
It was all YM until Hafner's 'world class' strike. And it was a similar story in the second period, Sadough missed a one on one, and the visiting bench were left screaming for a penalty in the final moments when Lawley was hauled down in the box.
White added: "People will look at that as a good point away from home when they see the scoreline, but as we had more of the game we are disappointed. "We should be up there with the leading pack on seven points."
