YM BOSS Chris White believes his side have already made the adjust-ment to the demands of the Ryman League after this impressive defeat of fancied Metropolitan Police.
The Met side are perennial play-off candidates, but YM paid little respect for that reputation as a brace from Shaheen Sadough bagged all three points.
"Once we got into the game we realised there was nothing to fear," White said. "We got it down and played our football and we were fine."
Just as on Saturday against Walton & Hersham, YM made a slow start and they fell behind on 16 minutes. A high through ball was picked up by Gary Drewett, who headed past the onrushing Simon Lockwood.
White immediately rang the changes, James Virgo had struggled with the pace of the game, and was replaced by Tony Timms.
Timms went on to have a fine match, despite playing through the pain barrier of a broken arm, his second in a year.
Frankie Sawyer went close for the Met before YM levelled in stunning fashion. Shaheen Sadough, playing a lone role up front in place of the injured Paul Elliott, swivelled on the spot and curled a delicious finish beyond Met stopper
Will Packham. Further chances came in the form of a Mike Huckett header and a Tom Lawley shot which was beaten away.
YM continued to soak up the Met pressure in the second period, Craig Willkins headed a James Evans free kick wide, before Sadough missed with the goal at his mercy on a break.
The game was all but won in the 71st minute when Nigel Brake's low free kick was spilled by Packham and Sadough reacted first the help the ball in as it trickled o the line.
YM then were content settle for the points, ; despite a late Craig Car effort, the Met offered lit!
White said: "We have nothing to worry about, it was a very quick game and the players who have made the step up from the County League have got used to it".
