Dodd impresses with first YM goals

YOUNGSTER Terry Dodd scored his first two goals for Horsham YMCA as they cruised through against Eastbourne Town 3-1 last night.

A change of shape led to a solid defensive display, following Saturday's horror defeat at Whyteleafe, and YM dominated, giving boss Chris White more hope.

"Some of the football we played was terrific," he said. "If you look at our last four games we have won two drawn one and lost one."

Playing with Tom Manton and Mike Huckett as holding midfielders, YM took the lead when Dodd was hauled down outside the box and Nigel brake lined up a shot which flew across the Town keeper into the far corner.

Eastbourne levelled before the break, but when Shaheen Sadough won the second of two penalties (Manton saw the first well saved), Dodd stepped up to confidently fire YM back in front.

Five minutes later, 19-year-old Dodd made sure of YM's progress when slipped in by Sadough.

White said: "I think he will be a super player for us, he deserved to score."
