YM must cut out early goals

HORSHAM YMCA manager Chris White admits his side were taught a first half lesson during their 5-2 defeat to Croydon Athletic last night.

YM went 4-0 down inside 36 minutes, and although a Ross Flitney own goal and a Tom Manton penalty gave the hosts some respectability, what was in no doubt as to what to blame.

"We were taight a lesson in the first half, no dount about that," White said.

"There was some superb finishing but also some mistakes from us. It's the fourth times this season we have conceded a goal in the first five minutes, that's something we have to cut out."

A change to a more direct style paid dividends as YM effectovely wo nthe second half 2-1.

White added: "We tried to play football but they were just too sharp for us. At 4-1 we had a couple of chances and if it went to 4-3 who knows what might have happened."
