PAUL ELLIOTT'S extra time strike gave Horsham YMCA a deserved 2-1 win over a dogged Redhill to set up a League Cup semi final tie with Three Bridges.
The striker saved the blushes of his goal keeper Tom Rand, whose second major error in two games handed the visitors an unlikely equaliser which they didn't ever look like finding.
In the opposite goal YM found Redhill stopper Chris May in irresistible form, and Martin Flack's 19th minute header aside, repelled a con¬stant barrage of attacks.
Selection problems at the back handed a first start to Ricky Timms at right back and a return to the side for Flack, and both made the most of the opportunity.
YM asserted themselves from the first whistle, Elliott was denied by May's block and Ryan Bradley miscuing at the back post; Bradley then had an effort beaten away by the keeper.
The hosts were rewarded when Tom Lawley's 30 yard run earned a corner, which he delivered to the back post for Flack to head home. Redhill's only chance of the half came when Tony Reid capitalised on a fortunate deflection but Rand made the save.
At the other end, Scott Marshall hit the inside of the post for the dominant hosts.
The break didn't put YM off their stride, Lawley drilling inches wide, and Steve Metcalf went close twice, before a sloppy goal stopped them in their tracks.
There seemed little danger when Andrew Dalehouse headed into Rand's hands, but somehow it turned into a hot potato, slipping out of his grasp, through his legs and over the line to leave him red faced.
"He's suffering a bit," said manager Chris White. "But he's a good goal keep¬er and he'll work hard in training and hopefully put it right on Saturday."
For the first time Redhill believed they could win the game, although bang on 90 minutes Elliott poked wide from a good position. The striker made no such mis¬take when Manton found him in the box, and from a tight angle he lifted it over May.
YM now face Three Bridges in the semi final.
Man of the match: Nell Watts - is showing what a good player he is after injury and suspension has hampered his season.
Magic moment: Elliott's calm finish to win the tie for YM.
