YM's Scott Marshall controls the ball, picture by Steve Cobb, courtesy of the West Sussex County Times MATT GEARD and Paul Elliott fired a brace apiece as Horsham YMCA eventually saw off Redhill 4-3 on Saturday.

YM were in charge, until 'a mad five minutes' saw the hosts go 3-1 up before the break. But boss Chris White had faith in his men and watched as Geard's 75th minute winner sealed the points.

"We came out really well into the wind and rain," White said. "We pretty much dominated."

Shaheen Sadough was in irrepresible mood, seeing one shot saved by Chris May, and then another hit the post in the opening moments.

YM didn't have to wait long though - Sadough was rampaging down the right and found Elliott with, who curled a superb finish into the top corner. "That was a goal worthy of winning any football match," White remarked.

Even though the visitors were 'cruising', Redhill did open them up when Tom Rand was called into action after a poor Richard Carter pass. But just as White was preparing his half time speech, Redhill changed the complexion of the game.

First, Harrison netted after James Virgo was caught on the ball, and then moments later Robinson converted a rebound after a good save from Rand.

It was 3-1 seconds before the break when Robinson scored frorn a right wing cross which floated into the net.

White said: "It didn't really change what I was going to say at half time. We had been excellent, all we had to do was have enough belief. The next goal would be crucial."

And sure enough it fell for YM, when Elliott tucked away a rebound after Matt Geard's shot it was 3-2 just seconds into the second period.

Geard levelled the scores when he found the top cor¬ner with an absolute screamer from Sadough's pass. By now, Redhill were petrified of Geard's breaks from midfield, and the former Horsham man was allowed to advance to the edge of the box and unleash a left footed drive which flew past May in the Redhill goal.

"We conceded three goals, but we did defend very well - it was just those mad five minutes."
