MATT Geard has now scored three goals in his first three games after bagging a brace for Horsham YMCA but it wasn't enough to earn a win as Wick twice came from behind to draw 2-2.
The former Horsham and Lewes midfielder struck on nine minutes but C Clarke drew the visitors level, and Geard looked to have won the game when he curled home from 25 yards with 20 minutes to play before Darren Pearce equalised late on.
"He's (Geard) a quality footballer, but we knew that already," said manager Chris White.
"You don't get to play for Horsham and Lewes in the Conference if you are not a good player."
YM took the lead when Shaheen Sadough broke into the box and cut the ball back for Geard to find the bottom corner.
YM had the clearer chances in an even first half, striker Paul Elliott only denied by a good save by the Wick keeper who also kept out Sadough's cross/shot.
White had picked out the aerial threat of his former player Julian Curnow before the match so was disappointed when he was allowed to freely head the ball back across goal from a corner for Clark to equalise.
Elliott looked set to score when he rounded the visiting keeper but his shot from a tight angle struck the post.
Geard then produced a moment of magic.
He picked the ball up from Sadough and after cutting in from the left curled the ball sweetly into the top corner.
The midfielder followed this up by delivering a fine cross to the back post to pick out Elliott, who had steamed into the box but could only volley back across goal and wide, and the miss was punished when Scott Murphin set up Pearce to draw Wick level on 84 minutes.
White said: "We are looking very good going forward but we are having a little spell where we don't defend a lead very well.
"I said to the lads if we have to score three goals' every week it will be a tough ask."
