CHRIS White dumped most of his Horsham YMCA side in the reserves in midweek following their meek surrender to Peacehaven and Telscombe in the FA Vase.

YM crashed out of the competition 4-1 to the Division 2 side on Saturday, and both the scoreline and performance were of huge concern for White.

"It was probably the worst performance I have been involved with in 30 years in senior football," manager White commented.

"The performance was appalling, it was a disastrous day for us."

White was so disgusted, many of his team were told to turn out for the reserves against Raynes Park on Wednesday.

He added: 'It was their (Peacehaven's) cup final. They were up for it and we were not, we're making a habit of going behind and we were two down inside ten minutes.

"I've told them to go and play in the reserves and get this out of their system."

Peacehaven grabbed a fourth minute lead when Chris Bunch popped up between James Virgo and Chris Georgio in the YM defence to convert a cross, and five minutes later it was two. Stand-in goalkeeper Dan Humphreys felt he was fouled in the build up, but instead of booting the ball clear the home defence argued the toss with the officials and Watton had the simplest of tasks to score.

YM finally woke up and hit back shortly before half time. Shaheen Sadough won a header which fell nicely for Tom Lawley to lash home on the volley.

White said: "It was ours for the comeback, but we started the second half poorly and never got going."

A bad afternoon deteriorated when substitute Martyn Flack was harshly penalised for a spot of shirt pulling inside the box, and Saunders made no mistake from 12 yards.

Poor marking from a corner Millis to net Peacehaven's fourth on 70 minutes when he found himself all alone on the edge of the six yard box.

White locked his team in the dressing room for almost half an hour as the post-match inquest started.

"I had a lot do say, and so did some of the senior players," White remarked.
