AN EMPHATIC win saw Horsham YMCA romp through to the second round of the John O'Hara League Cup with an 8-0 demolition of Storrington.

Tom Lawley bagged a brace and Shaheen Sadough and Ryan Bradley opened their YM accounts in the rout.

YM boss Chris White said: "We were terrific for the whole 90 minutes, I did feel for Storrington.

"The pleasing thing is that at 3-0 up at half time we could have taken it easy.

"But we did a professional job."

YM were 1-0 up after 12 minutes, Sadough dinking a cool one on one finish over Gary Elliott in the Swans goal.

Lawley made it two from the spot after Sadough was felled as he was about the pull the trigger - despite Storrington's protests that their man was fouled first.

It was 3-0 just before the break, Jack Hayward claimed his first senior goal after a neat one-two with Bradley and charging down an attempted clearance.

Richard Carter added YM's fourth after the break, Elliott managed to get some of the 25 yard effort but could not stop it crossing the line. Ben Harwood then scored the goal of the game, a peach of a strike from 30 yards which flew into the far corner.

Centre back Tony Timms scored number six, he bravely dived in among the legs to head home substitute Sam Blundell's cross.

Lawley was felled in the box to enable Bradley to step up and lash home the seventh from 12 yards and Lawley then completed his double. After jinking past two defenders his shot took a deflection on its way into the back of the net.

The Swans did have chances though, Liam Humphreys and Greg Palmer went close while at 1-0 down John Rhodie had a shot tipped over.
