JOHN Suter has resigned as manager of the Sussex side because he feels he cannot do the job justice now.
The competition Sussex are in has changed, restricting the choice of players to County League level and seeing as the Horsham YMCA boss manages in the Ryman League he cannot give the time to watch players. "They (Sussex) have changed competitions," remarked Suter. "They've moved from the South West Counties Championship which is a proper senior players competition. All non-contracted players in Sussex can play, County League and Ryman League. "This competition now only has a level five down ceiling which is just County League clubs, as I'm not a County League manager and have a full time job I don't see them." He added: "I kept it up last year, thinking I would have more time this year but I haven't - I'm with YM. "I think it's time for someone else to do it that was in and around the County League. "When I had resigned I felt that I had done the right thing, buit I will miss it - they've been very complimentary. "That is why I resigned, not because of the clash between club and county," stated Suter. "It was hard work but I did have a lot of support from most of the County League managers." |
