Buoyant Suter confident of YM win

8 January 2008

BOSS John Suter firmly believes his depleted Horsham YMCA side can go to Tonbridge Angels and win tonight (Tuesday) in the Isthmian League Cup.

YM caused an upset by beating Premier Division Folkestone Invicta 4-3 in a thrilling second round clash but Tommy Warrilow's Tonbridge outfit at the Longmead Stadium should be an even tougher proposition.

Suter's men are in a relegation fight, near the bottom of Division 1 South but the cup could provide a nice distraction.

"The game isn't high on my list of priorities but we are going there to win," the manager said.

"Chris Winterton, Ali Russell, Matt Russell, Zeb Kazemi and Martin Flack are unavaliable who all started on Saturday.

"It's not my strongest side but I have this feeling we are going to win," stated Suter, "it's an attacking midfield. It has an interest for me to see these people play.

"This game affords me the opportunity to have a look at Fitzy (Phil Fitzgerald], it's his first start in the first team this season.

"Matt Percival has been away for personal reasons and just returned to the club. He's fiesty, I quite like him as a footballer."

The starting line up for YM is expected to be: Westoby, Carden, Woodburn, White, Fitzgerald, Greenfield, Simpson, Grant, Ottley, Lyons, Palmer. Substitues: Jupp, Percival, Keaney.
