MAssaro Suffers leg break agony.
A HUGE injury blow was suffered by Horsham YMCA's Pat Massaro during Saturday's draw at Molesey when he suffered a double break of his leg.
The forward was looking to fire home an acrobatic volley seven minutes into the second but unfortunately as he shot, the defender came in to block which broke the tibia and fibula in his right leg.
Massaro had an operation on Sunday with a rod going down the length of his shin and having it pinned at the bottom.
YM manager John Suter said: "He is still in hospital, hopefully coming out later today (Tuesday).
"I think Pat has coped with this so well, he's dealt with this remarkably - it is such a show of strength on the pitch_, and in hospital.
"He has been talking positively about playing football again and getting back to work as soon as possible.
"I think he has showed a strength of character, I'm very impressed with him."
Having broken his leg in the past, Suter rushed from his position in the stand to help comfort Massaro. The boss remarked: "I was like an anesthetic for Pat, I put him to sleep talking about my broken legs."
He added: "It's a great shame, a complete accident which is just one of those things that happens in football from time to time unfortunately.
