A KRIS Trevor hat-trick set up YM for the full points against a useful looking Sidley United side.
YM used their pace and good control up front to set up the goals, leaving the visitors scraps to feed on.
However, Sidley, who have a number of seasoned veter¬ans never gave up and it was two blunders that really made the match comfortable for the home side.
The first was from a Russell Eldridge corner after 32 minutes. A mass of players leapt at the near post and the ball rebounded off a Sidley defender into the net.
The second mistake was far more embarrassing.
That was on 50 minutes when the ball was rolled towards the United keeper Peter Newstead on the left of the penalty area.
He took a swipe at it, missed completely and Trevor, lurking nearby, was able to virtually walk it into the net.
YM's opener came after just four minutes when a long ball split the defence. Trevor beat Newstead who came out to narrow the angle and slot¬ted home.
Just four minutes later Trevor got to a quality Eldridge cross to flick the ball past the keeper.
Dave Ward clawed Sidley back into the game on 25 minutes when a YM move broke down.
The ball was whipped in by Peter Baker and Ward was one of two players running in to touch it pass keeper lan Chatfield.
YM's fifth came after 57 minutes from another cross and it was Matt Duffield on hand to head into the net.
Sidley had the final word, though, on 67 minutes as Steve Morris struck home after a YM defensive lapse.
Saudi Arabian Mazin Hudai continued to impress up front. His close control is a joy to watch and he had a great shot palmed away just before the end.
Manager John Suter was delighted afterwards, though had some reservations. "It was a bit worrying the chances they got, but having said that they've got some very good players.
"It's what we needed after three defeats in a row. It puts us back on track as far as points are concerned."
Final congratulations should go to the groundsman as the YM pitch was in excel¬lent condition considering the amazing amount of rain in the past week.
