ON THE ground where they won the County League last season, YM crashed to their first defeat of the new campaign when they lost 1-0 to Arundel in Division 1 on Tuesday night.
Jason Wimbleton scored the only goal, slotting home in the tenth minute after YM failed to deal with Lee Barnard's corner.
The visitors created little in front of goal although Ali Russell should have done better with a header a minute before half-time.
Both Russell and Matt Duffield squandered opportunities after the break as YM slipped to a disappointing loss - a stark contrast to last season where they remained unbeaten until January.
"For all our possession in the second half, we did not create a single clear cut chance," said YM boss John Suter.
YM play Corinthian Casuals - who are in Ryman League 1 - at Gorings Mead tomorrow (Aug 27) in the FA Cup.
