NOT ONLY has it been a successful season on the pitch for YM but they have achieved great things off it as well.

John Suter has been amazed by the progress the club has made, he commented: "It's been a tremendous effort overall, behind the scenes as well.

"The players have done their job - finishing top of the league but there's more to it. This has been the most successful season in the club's history, you cannot get away from it," he added.

"It was all started by the committee, ably led by Mick Browning - he led from the front. Alan McGuire is a real 'roll your sleeves up' kind of treasurer," praised Suter.

"The club had effectively ran out of money in March and it was accepted that we couldn't go up and then Victor Gladwish has got involved. It couldn't have happened without him.

"There has been tremendous hard work from all the committee and players. Ron Moulding has to have a mention. We had the players up there helping out. Ellis Hooper did a lot of electrics, he was up there at 5.30 in the morning of the day of the inspection.

"I must mention Darren Champion. We couldn't find a builder to start with who could do the work in that time. He came along and minimised the problems. I was absolutely gob smacked - every problem he ran in to, he overcame. It helped that he was an ex-player.

"It really has been a good season for the club overall," remarked the YM supremo.
