JOHN Suter has branded Whitehawk boss lan Chapman's words that YM will win the league as 'kidology'.

Despite Whitehawk ending YM's 18-game unbeaten run on Monday, former Albion defender Chapman told the Argus that YM will be crowned champions at the end of the season.

He said: "Horsham YMCA are still the side to be shot at.

They must be a good team to go this far unbeaten and I think they will win the league. They are too far in front of everyone."

But Suter, who is a master in the art of deflection himself, thought Chapman was merely diverting the attention away from his Whitehawk side who could close the gap on runaway leaders YM to 11 points if they win their game in hand.

"It's part of football manager's talk," said Suter.

"He hopes that we will read it and relax, but I'm not going to believe that.

Just because he says we will win the league does not mean we should clear some space in the trophy cabinet."

Suter thinks that Chapman's words will keep the pressure on YM by firing up their opponents.

"It sets us up for the opposition and motivates everyone else we are playing," he added.

How YM respond to their first league defeat of the season will have a huge bearing on whether they will win the title.

A poor run of form, starting with a loss to Eastbourne Town at Gorings Mead tomorrow, will give the rest of the challengers an almighty lift.

"Losing to Whitehawk has put the cat amongst the pigeons, it was a good day for the rest of the league. But it's still a huge gap at the top," said Suter.

"All we have done is lose a game of football, it's a minor thing. But we will prepare for our next game the same as we did for our last game," he added.
