YM fail with ground bid.
YM'S application to join the Ryman League has been rejected after their Gorings Mead ground failed an inspection.
The runaway County League leaders met inspectors in early March and after a three-week wait were informed that their ground does not fulfil the criteria needed to step-up to level four of the non-league pyramid.
YM now face the prospect of another season in Sussex football while they try and upgrade their facilities.
In a statement delivered to the County Times this week, the club expressed their disappointment at the decision.
It read: "Naturally everybody at the club is very disappointed and extremely unhappy about the whole procedure leading up to this decision. What we were asked to do by the way of improvements was impossible in the time-span allowed (end of April).
"We hope to proceed with the building of the new dressing room block in due course and completing all the required criteria by the end of this year.
"This would enable us to move forward in the season 2006/7 should we be successful in winning the Sussex County League next season."
