The bottom of the table team lost their composure in the second half and had three men sent off but not before YM had already ripped them apart and been 4-0 up.

With more clinical finishing the scoreline could have been greater as the hosts created chances at will after the break.

Tom Carter and an absolute cracker from Nick Levett handed the Gorings Mead club a two goal advantage which was added to by Nick Flint (two), Ali Russell, Joel O'Hara and Clinton Moore.

The referee had set the tone early, brandishing yellow cards with a couple appearing harsh, but that is no excuse for what occurred after the interval as a demoralised Sidlesham lost the plot - having players sent for an early bath for dissent is criminal.

"I'm pleased with the scoreline and the three points," said manager John Suter.

"I think we should have scored more goals out of it when you are playing against ten, nine and then eight men.

If I would have been out there as a centre forward I would have been doing my nut trying to get more goals from a selfish point of view. We should have been more ruthless," added the former striker.

Captain Matt Duffield came close to opening the scoring after just 33 seconds as the writing appeared on the wall almost immediately.

O'Hara crossed and Duffield produced a downward header that went straight at Tyrone Hoare in the visitors goal.

A couple of minutes later Barrie Westgate was left alone but he headed wide from close range.

Following a spot of pin-ball in the YM box, Wayne Emery ballooned his shot over the bar but that was about as good as it got for Sidlesham.

Flint then robbed the visitors' backline as they tried to play it out of defence and fed Russell but his pass was just behind the colossal forward and he struggled to get the ball under control before the keeper came out quickly to block.

A well worked short corner after 14 minutes produced the opener. James Grant crossed, Hoare saved O'Hara's sliding effort but that left Carter with the simplest of tasks to bang it in from virtually on the line.

The second came in the 26th minute from Levett who hit a belter from 30 yards that nestled in the bottom corner. Duffield had beaten two men before his cross was cleared to the full-back who returned it with interest.

Hoare then denied O'Hara from point blank range following more good work from Duffield down the right. It was Flint's turn just before the break to be thwarted by the keeper as Grant ran on to a Russell flick and played him in.

From the resulting corner Duffield's drive was well tipped over however the referee Mark Thompson did Hoare a disservice and awarded a goal-kick.

Two minutes into the second half Carter hit a lovely ball over the top which Flint ran on to and buried past the already over worked keeper after steadying himself.

Liam Ahearne over lapped on the wing and his cross was blocked but the ball fell kindly for the right-back and he lashed an effort inches wide.

A superb turn from Flint left his marker for dead and he beat another man before the ball was parried away by Hoare but the fourth was to come moments later.

Grant worked some space out wide and found Russell who drilled the ball under the helpless keeper.

Sidlesham were reduced to ten men just after the hour mark as Keith Martin was sent off for a sec¬ond bookable offence as a flailing arm caught Westgate in the face to give him a bloody nose.

A combination of the keeper and Andy Lunn then stopped what appeared to be a certain goal for Grant following Moore's downward header.

The fifth did not take long in arriving as Moore crossed deep, Flint knocked it down where play¬ers were queuing up to score and O'Hara just beat Duffield to the punch.

Both Russell and O'Hara were rewarded for their strikes by being substituted immediately as YM continued to pour forward against a now dispirited Sidlesham.

In their only attack of the second half, Tom Stairs and Danny Cooper combined to good effect before Cooper curled a shot over the bar.

Despite manager Richard Towers' words of warning, his team did not keep their mouths closed as they complained too much and Dan Jones was given his marching orders after 72 minutes.

Seven minutes later Cooper said something that the linesman took offence to and was consequently shown the red card. Sandwiched in between the dismissals Grant lashed a shot wide as it was clearly a matter of how many would be scored.

The dynamic midfielder then spun in the area but was pulled to the floor. Moore despatched the penalty powerfully as Hoare was unlucky not to keep it out, getting a hand to it.

In the dying moments of the game Flint was denied by Hoare and Moore saw a curler come back off the upright before falling straight to the keeper.

However, there was still time for one more as Dean Garden burst into the penalty area and cut the ball back, it struck the post and Flint smashed the rebound in from close range.
