YM's new boss Chris White, picture courtesy of the West Sussex County Times HORSHAM YMCA boss Chris White is impressed with his new troops following the weekend's 2-1 defeat of East Thurrock United.

Strikes Richard Carter from the penalty spot handed YM the win at Gorings Mead, and with the signings of Shaheen Sadough and Ryan Bradley from Whitehawk, White believes the side is 'headed in the right direction'.

White's side lost 4-0 to Horsham in the first season game of the campaign, and the manager has seen a marked improvement since then.

"I think we could have done with that one in two or three games time," White said.

"That would have been the test for us and we if we had have played played Horsham on Saturday, there is no way we would have lost 4-0.

"We are heading in the right direction, considering we have had to start from scratch with only a couple of players signed on.

"We have worked very hard and there are now some good players here."

YM will face a test on Saturday, when they play Ryman League side Dulwich Hamlet.
